There are many resources for gaining mediation expertise.  Here are selected links to important ADR websites for Tennessee attorneys, arbitrators and mediators.

American Bar Association Dispute Resolution Section.  The ABA web site includes a link to the Model Standards of Conduct for Mediators and provides information about publications and upcoming conferences of interest to dispute resolution professionals.  An ABA online resource ("Getting to Know Mediation") provides basic information about mediation. Find information on quality mediation in the Final Report of the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution's Task Force on Improving the Quality of Mediation (March 2007).  A searchable online mediation ethics database is available through the web page for the Dispute Resolution Section's Ethics Committee.

ABA Ethics 20/20 Commission. The Commission will perform a thorough review of the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct and the U.S. system of lawyer regulation in the context of advances in technology and global legal practice developments.  It plans to submit a report at the 2012 meeting of the ABA House of Delegates.

Association for Conflict Resolution.  The ACR supports Conflict Resolution Day, an international celebration held annually on the third Thursday in October. Activities supported by the Tennessee Coalition for Mediation Awareness (TCMA) are posted on the ACR web site. 

Tennessee Bar Association Dispute Resolution Section.  The TBA web site includes information on attorney education and bar association sections, including the TBA Dispute Resolution Section. 

Tennessee Association for Professional Mediators (TAPM).  TAPM provides educational programs and peer group meetings for its members.

Lipscomb University Institute for Conflict Management (ICM).  The ICM web site provides information on graduate school courses on dispute resolution at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee.  

Better Business Bureau of Nashville and Middle Tennessee.  The BBB has a roster of neutral arbitrators available to conduct hearings on certain consumer-to-business and business-to-business disputes.
